Ludlow Castle FestivalThroughout the year Shropshire is home to many indoor and outdoor events. The jewel in the crown being the Ludlow festivals: starting in the summer when an outdoor production of Shakespeare takes place in the inner bailey of the castle and fringe activities happen throughout the period, the now world famous Food Fayre in September and the Medieval Christmas Fayre at the end of November. Farmers Markets are held throughout the year in many towns and villages including Craven Arms, Bishops Castle, Owes try and Ludlow.

Oswestry HillfortRamblers and walkers can enjoy a number of walking festivals in the summer months at Church Streton, Cleobury Mortimer, Bishops Castle, Ludlow, and others in the north of the country. There are also country fairs, street carnivals in Market Drayton, Wem and Ellesmere. Music and arts festivals and heritage and transport rallies also take placed throughout the county. The Green Man Day in Clun in May is ever more popular attracting thousands of visitors from all over the world.

Wem Sweet Pea ShowThe charming market town of Wem is home to the famous annual Sweet Pea Show in July and the well established Shrewsbury Flower Show in August, with Percy Thrower's Dingle and the river Severn making this perfect venue for a day out. For farming and countryside enthusiasts, The West Midlands Show in Shrewsbury in May, Burwarton and Tenbury Shows in August, and the Midland Game Fair at Weston Park in September are some of the main events.
