Those who discover our fine county are in for a treat because Shropshire is really five counties rolled into one.
There's our own lakeland of glacial meres in the North around Ellesmere and the borderland of Oswestry, where the mountains of Wales invade the Shropshire plain.
Good walking country so bring your boots if you like. The medieval county town of Shrewsbury, with its black and white buildings, is a shopaholic's paradise and those 'Blue Remembered Hills' of Housman fame in the South will surely bring out the poet in you.
Finally, there's the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge, home of the Industrial Revolution. Admire the world's first cast iron bridge as it spans the Severn. Magnetic.
